The name “RorSor127” comes from the year the land title of this home was issued — Ratanakosin Era 127 or 1908 AD. This century-old house once belonged to Phraya Atcharatsongsiri, a former Minister of Agriculture and nobleman who served during the reign of King Rama IX.
Built during World War II as a refuge for his family and fellow aristocrats, the house later stood still for more than half a century until his descendants and close friends brought it back to life to honour his handwritten words engraved on the deed: “Not for Sale.” Though it bears no legal weight, it carries the weight of love and legacy.
Today, this cherished home has been reborn as RorSor127 Every Bite Has A Story, an authentic Thai restaurant that tells stories through food — stories of people, seasons, and the land that sustains us.
The philosophy behind “Every Bite Has A Story” or in Thai “Nai Khao Mee Kham” (ในข้าวมีคำ) is inspired by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s sufficiency principle: “Walk step by step, eat bite by bite, do one thing at a time.” It reflects mindfulness, respect for nature, and gratitude for each process. These values are deeply rooted in Thai agriculture and mirrored in every plate we serve.
Here at RorSor127, every grain tells a story, every bite holds meaning, and every meal is a quiet tribute to heritage and heart. Every bite has a story.
